With its private slipway, you can easily launch a kayak or paddleboard to explore the tranquil waters or visit the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, just a short journey away. After a day of adventure, enjoy a dip in the cool loch then unwind in the wood-fired sauna or soak in the luxurious outdoor copper bath – perfect for soothing tired muscles or enjoying a serene evening under the stars.
Inside, The Sheddie combines rustic charm with modern amenities, creating a cozy and inviting space. Relax by the wood burner, curl up with a good book, or put your feet up and take in the phenomenal views. You may even be lucky enough to spot an eagle soaring above or an otter on the bay!

A warm highland welcome
Stepping inside The Sheddie, you’re welcomed by a spacious, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, all designed to capture the outstanding views beyond. The large window allows the stunning landscape to become a part of the space, creating an inviting and serene atmosphere. Whether you’re relaxing by the fire with a good book, or enjoying watching the abundant wildlife, cooking the finest local seafood, or enjoying a meal together, the breathtaking, ever-changing scenery of the loch and mountains remains a constant, enhancing the charm of this beautiful retreat.
Recharging and Unwinding
The Sheddie comfortably sleeps six, with three beautiful yet simply appointed bedrooms. Two are king-sized, while the third is a cosy twin room. The main bedroom features large French doors that open onto a deck with a canopy, providing a perfect space to enjoy the stunning views. Even in wild weather, you can soak in the large copper bath outside, offering a unique way to take in the breathtaking landscape, no matter the season. It’s a haven of relaxation, blending luxury and nature effortlessly.
The Sheddie features one bathroom with a separate enclosed shower. It also has a Jack and Jill en-suite connecting to the main bedroom. The en-suite boasts a spacious enclosed shower. Not forgetting the luxurious outdoor copper bath, perfect for soaking in the stunning views while enjoying a relaxing bath experience.
Gathering and Feasting
At the heart of the kitchen and dining space is a beautiful 400-year-old oak refectory table, perfect for gathering loved ones and hosting memorable feasts. It’s an ideal spot for sharing stories and enjoying a glass of wine, a dram of Scotland’s finest malt or our own Salt Dog Gin. The open-plan kitchen features a high-quality oven, ideal for cooking large roasts, and a Quooker tap providing instant filtered hot water. The kitchen island offers plenty of space for enjoying your breakfast whilst gazing at the amazing views beyond.
When the outdoors are calling enjoy alfresco dining on the deck, sitting at the large table and benches or gather cushions to scatter on the steps and window seats! Best of all, if it rains you can still enjoy the great outdoors whilst under the shelter of the large canopy!

The Sheddie garden is a spacious, grassy area that gently slopes down to the waterfront. With its own private slipway providing direct access to the water, it’s perfect for those looking to explore the loch and wee inlets. Mature trees surrounding the property offer a sense of seclusion and privacy, while the stunning backdrop of the sea and mountains creates a truly breathtaking setting. The Sheddie garden is the ideal spot for an outdoor sauna, offering phenomenal views of the loch. Surrounded by natural beauty, it provides a serene environment for relaxation and rejuvenation while soaking in the stunning landscape.
Imagine being on holiday, enjoying a refreshing cold water swim in the loch, followed by a soothing session in the hot sauna. After a quick dip to cool off, you can unwind in a warm bath under the canopy, surrounded by nature. It’s an idyllic way to experience absolute relaxation and rejuvenation – pure perfection!
The Sheddie is blessed with dark skies and has no light pollution making it an ideal spot for stargazing from the deck!
There is an abundance of bird and wildlife to keep the young and old entertained. This includes otter, geese, ducks, heron and often sea eagles – Britains largest bird.
YOUNG ONES
We welcome children at The Sheddie and we feel it is a fantastic place for kids who love the outdoors! A travel cot can be provided on request.
DOGS
One well behaved doggy is most welcome but we do ask to keep dogs out of the bedroom areas and for all dog poo to be picked up.

Applecross & Bealach na Bà
The drive over Bealach na Bà is breathtaking! The rugged beauty of Applecross is well worth the adventure, and the seafood at the Applecross Inn is legendary. Have to make a stop at the Kishorn Seafood Shack for some excellent seafood on your way back to The Sheddie!
Kintail & Glen Shiel
Great for walking and phenomenal views! The Five Sisters of Kintail is an excellent ridge walk. A heartwarming hot chocolate from Chocolates of Glen Shiel is the perfect way to refuel!
Isle of Skye
The Skye Bridge is 7.5 miles from The Sheddie! The Fairy Pools, The Fairy Glen, Old Man of Storr, and the Quiraing are just some of the seriously epic spots on Skye. Sligachan is also a great base if you’re into hiking, and Portree is always good for exploring the local shops and cafes. Beautiful Kinloch Lodge is only 20 miles away from The Sheddie!!
The Glenelg Ferry
Known as the ‘Kylerhea Ferry’ is a historic and unique way to travel between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. It connects the small village of Glenelg on the mainland to Kylerhea on Skye and is a brilliant wee trip!
